Boardcrafter Snowboard Building

With Boardcrafter Design’s ability to print snowboard templates at 1:1 scale using a standard printer and the introduction of the free shapes library the need for preprinted templates has been eliminated.

The snowboard templates previously available in the Boardcrafter shop have been removed. The shop still provides component snowboard materials and software registration keys.

Intro to Online Video ‘How To’ Guide

I’ve been putting together a modular online ‘How To’ video guide that covers the making of a snowboard from beginning to end using the vacuum pressing method and Boardcrafter Design software. There are great online building videos using pneumonic/bladder presses but vacuum pressing videos seem to be hard to find. The full video guide should be available here by Friday 12/12.

Boardcrafter Design™ snowboard design software is now available. It is finished one month ahead of schedule and allows snowboard and ski builders to easily design with CAD-like accuracy without CAD’s complexity. In addition to design capabilities the software allows ‘fit to page’ and 1:1 ratio template printing and .dxf exporting of:

Outer board shape
Core shape
Inserts
Tip spacers
Nose/Tail/Camber profile
Core Thickness Profile
Shape Specifications

The print function includes cut guidelines which allow users with a standard printer to accurately cut off page margins to create 1:1 scale templates.

Other features available in Boardcrafter Design include the ability to zoom in and out using a mouse scroll wheel and the ability to grab and move the board design by holding down the right mouse button.
