Snowboard Mold Rib Template - Part 3 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dante Martin

With the snowboard design finalized from part 2 the next step is to make the snowboard mold ribs that will create the tip, tail, and camber profiles I want my snowboard to have.  This is done by:

  • Printing out the snowboard profile shape from Boardcrafter Design and sticking it to an MDF plank with spray adhesive
  • Extending the tip and tail to give some working surface at both ends of my snowboard mold
  • Cutting the shape carefully with a high quality Jigsaw and sharp new wood blade
  • Smoothing any bumps in the mold rib template with a palm sander

Mine are 229 cm long but I first built my mold then I cut my mold ribs to fit inside. So the length can vary.
